Spectrum KU
While attending the University of Kansas I was involved in Spectrum KU as Activities Coordinator and Vice President. I spent time fundraising, managing money, putting on drag shows, organizing speakers, panels, and classroom visits. Every week our group met and we had either an educational, social, or activist event. We ended the school year with your pride month, Gaypril, where we had events all month long. Below are some examples of my work including a video I put together.
In April 2013 I brought Nate Phelps to our university. Nate Phelps is the son of Fred Phelps from the Westboro Baptist Church. He spoke about his childhood and various topics including religion and acceptance.
Current Involvement
In the past year I have helped organize Transgender Day of Remembrance in the community. I am a member of Louisiana Trans Advocates, Equality Louisiana, University of Louisiana GLASS, and I hold the title of Sir Acadiana Pride. I attended Louisiana Queer Conference. I also organized a service project in the community to collect hygiene products for Acadiana Cares Gay Men's Wellness Center.
Since arriving in Australia I have become a member of FTM shed and Genderqueer Australia.
