Australia
I am currently living in Melbourne, Australia working as an au pair for a family with five children. I've wanted to work abroad for a number of years and I'm finally getting the chance to do it.
AmeriCorpsI worked as an AmeriCorps Community Partner Coordinator at Rebuilding Together Acadiana from August 2015 to June 2016. AmeriCorps is a service program in the United States similar to Peace Corps. I served 11 months with Rebuilding Together working on homes and building wheelchair ramps for disabled, elderly, and low income homeowners. Half of my time I spend doing client intake and organizing upcoming projects and the other half was spent building and repairing homes. My personal service projects I completed was collecting money to buy a homeowner a new fridge, building three picnic tables with disadvantaged youth in a park, and running a toiletry drive for Acadiana Gay Men's Wellness Center.
